The Human Resources Officer is responsible for providing administrative support to the Human Resources Coordinator in areas such as recruitment and selection, staff induction, employee relations, and the review and development of organisational HR policies and procedures. The occupant will also maintain SWAMS’ human resources databases, including all personnel records and compliance spreadsheets.This position comes at a time of growth and change for the organisation, and will be integral to providing HR support to the Coordinator during this time. We are looking for an employee who is professional, dedicated and able to prioritise large workloads. Most importantly, we need someone who is culturally aware and sensitive to the needs of the Aboriginal community, and has the right attitude and fit to work with our friendly administration team. Specific requirements of this position include but are not limited to; Essential CriteriaA tertiary qualification in Human Resources (Diploma or higher would be advantageous), or significant experience in a generalist or administrative human resource capacity;Experience in recruitment and induction practices;Well-developed administrative skills, including strong attention to detail, accuracy and time management skills;Demonstrated effectiveness in contributing to a small team, including capacity to review and improve workplace practices;Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with applicants, external organisations, management and staff at all levels of SWAMS;Demonstrated capacity to effectively communicate, both written and verbal;Demonstrated capacity to promote and uphold HR initiatives and values, including discretion and confidentiality;Good computer skills and demonstrated proficiency in the use of business technology and desktop applications, including the use of Microsoft Office suite and database packages;The ability to communicate sensitively with Aboriginal people, with an understanding of the health and social issues that impact on the Aboriginal community;Well organized with the ability to effectively plan and coordinate own workload;A current WA driver's licence. Desirable CriteriaExperience in Aboriginal and/or Community Health;Experience in the use of LogiQC or similar quality management system;Experience in the use of MyRecruitment+ or similar online recruitment platform;Experience in the use of an ERP software package or HRIS would be highly regarded. All candidates must have a current WA Driver’s License and will be required to undertake a National Police Check prior to beginning employment. The preferred candidate will be required to provide a clear drug and alcohol screen prior to offer of employment. In addition to above award wages, Salary Sacrifice is available for the right candidate. For InformationFor further information about this position, please telephone the Human Resources Coordinator on (08) 9791 1166 during normal business hours. To ApplyTo apply for this role, please visit www.swams.com.au ‘Current Vacancies’ and click on the role that you would like to apply for.
